OUR STORY

We are a group of Transition Year students from Heywood Community School. We are a part of the Young Social Innovators initiative. Our aim is to encourage young people to get more involved in volunteering in their communities by linking young people with volunteering events using social media.

We felt that as young people it was very hard to have our voices heard and to get involved.

We realized, after research, that this was common. So many young people want to get involved whenever and where ever we can but just don't know about the opportunities. So we decided to give the information needed.

The Den

On the 14th of February 2017, Aoibhin, Enda, Ellen and Arianna went to the YSI den to pitch our idea of youth volunteering to the YSI dragons. Thanks to them we earned funding from YSI to support our project. We used part of that fund on our website, to create an easy platform for us to easily post opportunities and inform young people about volunteering.
